We are currently accepting bookings up through 25 months in advance.
All of our services are on-location (or on-site) for both the trial and wedding day. The trial and wedding day locations do not have to be the same location (i.e. you can have your trial run in Manhattan and your wedding day in Tarrytown, NY).
Generally, there are no travel fees if the artist is from your general area. If you are unsure if a travel fee would apply, just ask. Sometimes a travel fee may apply to your area because the artist(s) available for your date is not from that direct area/location (i.e. all the artists for local to that area are already booked).

Pricing and Levels
Pricing may vary as we do occasionally need to adjust our rates. Having been in business since 2003, we have not raised our rates often but do need to adjust for cost of living and inflation as any business does.
Pricing varies depending on the level of expertise of the individual artist who is available for your date. Most of our artists are at the agency team level.
The difference in price range has to do with years of wedding experience. Our artists have a variety of different backgrounds including experience in fashion, print, runway, commercial, tv/film, etc.
There are a multitude of pictures and testimonials for all of our artists on The Knot, Wedding Wire, and our Instagram and Facebook pages. We do not keep separate portfolios of our artists being that what you see from one artist versus another is representative of what the bride wanted–not necessarily what the artist can/can’t do or their particular style. What you may like may or may not be what another bride may or may not like, and the best way to determine if you want to book your wedding day services with us is to have a trial run through. If you are unhappy with the artist after the trial run through, please let us know and you are more than welcome to try another artist at the same level for no additional charge. If you wish to try an artist at a higher level, you just pay the difference in rates for the trial run through price.
All of our artists are hand-picked and personally trained by Megan Garmers herself and can do anything you ask of them, however they are not good at mind reading. Provided that you are open and honest about what you like and do not like, what you want to try and not try, you should be more than happy with any of our artists. The main difference between artists is their level, which is determined by years of wedding experience. That said, they all have experience prior to joining the team of MG Hair and Makeup–mostly in fashion, print, runway, commercial, tv/film, etc.
There are different packages available depending on your wedding day needs. Remember the more services you reserve for your wedding day with a custom package, the less it is per person when dividing the package equally between everyone. For a customized quote, contact us and we will email you all your options and the corresponding rates for each.
All payments are processed via PayPal so you can use any credit card you wish — you do not need to have a PayPal account. Should you wish to book a custom package with a non-refundable 50% retainer, we email you a customized invoice via PayPal.
Your non-refundable retainer is due whenever you are ready to reserve your wedding date and schedule your trial run through. Please note that this is not a separate payment, but instead simply a pre-payment of the trial run through service. This pre-payment reserves your wedding date temporarily from the time you complete your forms, agreement and payment until 48 hours after your trial run through provided your trial is within 30 days. This reservation is complimentary as we want to be sure that your date is not taken for your artist between the time you place your deposit and the date of your trial run through.
If you need to have a trial closer to your wedding date, you can book a package for your date by completing a non-refundable 50% retainer for the package you wish to book. You can then have your trial whenever you are ready. The balance of this package must be completed within 48 hrs after your trial OR no later than 30 days in advance of your wedding date – whichever comes first.
If you are unhappy with the artist after the trial run through, please let us know and you are more than welcome to try another artist at the same level for no additional charge provided there is availability.
Should you decide not to continue your services booking past the trial run through, you are under no obligation, owe nothing else and your date and artist are released.
Should you decide to continue your services booking past the trial run through for the wedding date, your balance along for your wedding day services along with the payment for whatever bridal party services you will need is all due within 48 hours after your trial run through. Late payment will result in additional late fees and disqualify your individual bridal party services from receiving a discounted price.
Your trial run is your time to try as many different hair/makeup looks as you want to in order to be comfortable with whatever you choose as your wedding day look. Nothing is completely perfect or sprayed down as it would be on the wedding day as it would otherwise not be possible to try more than one look at the same trial.
Try to think through all the possible looks you want to try before the trial run so you can be prepared and maximize the time you have with your artist. Look online and in magazines to find pictures of hair and makeup looks that you like and don’t like. These examples will give you artist an idea of what a “romantic updo” means to you as another bride may have a completely different idea of what that looks like.
If you would like to book an additional trial not already included in your package, you can do so. We also offer trial runs for others in your party, mothers, aunts, etc. Please inquire about the additional fees associated with these.
Rates do not include parking fees associated with your getting ready location nor do they include any gratuity you would like to give your artist(s).
When calculating gratuity, please keep in mind the time it took to come to you, gas, tolls, parking, etc.
Customary tip amount is between 20%-30% of the total services rendered minus any gratuity given at the trial run through. All gratuity is to be given directly to the artist on the day of the wedding in cash only please (no checks).
Wedding Day Schedules
In regards to timing for your wedding day, we normally allot a half hour per person per service (i.e. 30 minutes per person for hair and 30 minutes per person for makeup, 1 hour per person for both hair and makeup) and 2 hours for the bride’s hair and makeup.
To reduce the total time to get ready on your wedding day, you can choose a custom package with more than one artist.
As you get closer to your wedding day, we also assist you in creating a services schedule for everyone and instructions you can pass along for how they should prepare for their wedding day services.
There are no refunds for any reason for completed services. Cancellation of services not yet completed must be made at least 90 days prior to the wedding date in order to receive a partial refund of services not yet rendered.
Non-refundable retainers are not able to be refunded.
